What does REACH Digitizer do?
Many apparel manufacturers, designers, merchandising organizations and others in the apparel sector have physical patterns made of cardboard, paper, fabric or other materials.
Such physical patterns suffer from a number of limitations.
They can get worn out, torn, cannot easily be shared, cannot easily be changed to create new patterns and often take up a lot of space.
Digital patterns do not have these limitations.
REACH Digitizer provides the fastest and easiest way to convert physical patterns to digital patterns.
REACH Digitizer comprises of the following:
- REACH Digitizing Magnetic Board
- REACH Digitizing Software
- Camera
REACH Digitizing Magnetic Board can be fixed on a wall ( this saves physical space)
Physical patterns that need to be converted into digital patterns are then placed on the REACH Digitizing Magnetic Board.
The physical patterns are held on to their places using magnets provided ( When using traditional digitizing boards,
physical patterns are pasted to the digitizing board using cello tape. It is cumbersome and labour intensive to
paste patterns, remove them, paste the next set of patterns etc.)
Once the physical patterns are held on to their places on the REACH Digitizing Magnetic Board, a camera is used to
click the image of the physical patterns.
This image gets transferred from the camera to REACH Digitizing Software on a computer.
REACH Digitizing Software automatically creates digital patterns that are similar to the physical patterns.
